Zoom
in and out: zoom the map by a factor of 2. Alternatively, enter a value
in the zoom to scale box and press go to update the map or select from the drop-down
list, to pick a scale between 1:100 and 1:250,000.

Extent: Zoom to the full extent of the East Border region area by clicking
on this icon.
Zoom
in box: click on the map and drag the mouse to mark a rectangle. The
map will then zoom in until the rectangle fills the map window.
Pan:
depress the mouse over the map to pick it up. You can then move the map around using
your mouse.
Info:
click on the map to obtain information about the nearest visible map feature.
Measure
Line: Measure the length of a line item on screen by clicking on the
map. The length of the line shall be displayed underneath the scale bar.
Measure
Area: Measure the area of an item on screen by clicking on the map.
The measurement of the area shall be displayed underneath the scale bar.
Back
and Forward Views: Return to the previous locations you viewed by pressing
the Back and Forward buttons.

The key map shows the particular area within the East Border Region that you are currently viewing. You may click on this map to zoom to that location.
Select from a number of pre-defined
locations. Choose from the drop down list to view the individual location you want
to display.
Enter the particulars of a property to locate and search the online gazetteer. You can choose to search for
addresses in The Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland. If you only know part
of the address, we will locate all addresses that contain the relevant entry - for
example, searching for "Church" will locate both Church Street and Church Lane.

The online mapping contains various
layers of information. Click the + sign next to the layers to expand the selection.
You may make additional layers visible, or hide the existing
ones for clarity, simply by selecting the layers you wish to view in this panel
and then press the

Refresh
button which is found beside the map layers on the right hand side. Note that some layers only appear at
map scales where they are suitable to be shown.
After searching for an address or
placing a marker on the screen you may choose to locate your nearest service from
the list provided in the drop down list. Choose the type and then choose a value
in the distance away drop down list. After pressing search you shall be presented
with a list of properties that match your search criteria. Click on one of the returned
properties to view its location

Users can choose to report an incident such as litter or grafitti to their local
authority by using the navigation tools to identify the area that they would like
to report an incident. You must then use the drop down lists in the reporting tab
to choose which type of report you wish to create. Once you have chosen a type you
can then click on the map to locate the incident
(if you wish to choose a different location you can exit the report by selecting a different tab). Once the report location has been identified the user must
then add some additional information before you can submit the incident. By pressing the submit button the
reports are sent directly to the local authority responsible for the
location.
